What is umta.et
The domain of usend's mail servers.
What is usend?
usend is an email API for developers. Businesses use it to send the email their products need, such as sign-up confirmations, receipts and notifications, and email their subscribers asked for.
What is umta.et?
It's the parent domain of the mail servers usend runs, used for email authentication and bounce handling. If you see umta.et in an email's headers or authentication results, the message was sent by one of our customers through usend.
The domain only identifies our servers: it never appears as the sender of an email. A customer's return path, such as send.example.com, points to a host like send.umta.et, and their SPF record includes _spf.umta.et. You'll never get an email from [email protected].
Does usend allow spam?
No. Customers may send only to people who asked to hear from them. Purchased, rented and scraped lists are prohibited by our Acceptable Use Policy, and accounts that break it are suspended.
Why can I trust mail from these servers?
- Every sender verifies their domain, and every message is signed with DKIM for that domain.
- Addresses that bounce or complain are suppressed automatically, and unsubscribes take effect immediately.
- Bounce and complaint rates are watched for every account. An account that goes above 4% hard bounces or 0.08% complaints is suspended automatically, and bulk sending is paused well before that.
- Marketing email must carry a working unsubscribe link and the sender's postal address, from a domain with a DMARC record.
- Every abuse report is read by a person, and a listing of our servers' addresses on a blocklist alerts us at once.
How to report abuse
If you received spam or an email you didn't ask for that was sent through usend, forward it, with its headers, to [email protected]. We investigate every report and act on accounts that abuse the platform.
